Now, she has returned to the role, in an advert for Yorkshire Tea.
In the advert, which can be viewed on the Yorkshire Tea YouTube channel, Sarah Lancashire appears, with a cup of Yorkshire Tea in hand, to investigate a classic case of biscuit theft. Throughout the caper, she interviews suspects to try to figure out exactly what happened.
One person owns up to stealing another persons biscuit before Sergeant Cawood goes to check CCTV. In the end, she finds out the original person who said someone had stolen a biscuit, had actually eaten them herself in a truly shocking revelation.
As she leaves, another worker asks who stole his stapler, sparking another manhunt. While the series Happy Valley may have come to an end, it is always great to see Sarah Lancashire reprise her iconic role.
