A schoolboy was arrested after fireworks were thrown at a house which people were inside. Emergency services were first called to Garswood Street in Dingle at around 8.10pm on Wednesday, January 8.
It followed a report a firework had been fired towards a door of a house. A few hours later at around 11.25pm, Merseyside Police received another call which said a window at the same property had been smashed and a firework was thrown through.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters arrived at the scene at around 11.30pm and found the front room to the ground floor ablaze. People were inside the property at the time, however police said there were no reports of any injuries.

Detective Inspector Steve Street said: “Clearly this could have had very serious consequences. Thankfully nobody was injured but the occupiers have been left shocked and upset. At this stage the motive is not clear and we are carrying out a number of lines of enquiry.
