Michael McIntyre revealed some dramatic scenes have been cut from the first episode of the new series of his Big Show. The star revealed one of his stunts for the popular BBC show had ‘backfired’.
He was playing The Midnight Gameshow, which sees the comedian sneak into the bedrooms of celebrities to perform a late night quiz, with Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott when he admitted it had ‘backfired’ and that some scenes wouldn’t be aired.
Sam and Strictly Come Dancing star Zara, who have split since filming the show, were said to be terrified after the comedian woke them up trying to get into their bedroom, Michael revealed on The One Show. Michael said: “Normally the partner knows and gives me the keys so one of them is in on it.

“On this occasion it was her brother that gave me the keys and neither of them knew I was going to wake them up, which was obviously, a risk that backfired.”
He continued: “So I get all the way to the door…the doors locked I can’t get in. And then I can hear them freaking out because they start to get the sense that there’s people upstairs. And they are totally freaking out.”
The star then revealed that Sam had answered the door ‘with a weapon’ in scenes that he said wouldn’t be airing on the BBC. Michael added: “And yeah they eventually opened the door, actually, its not in the show and I probably shouldn’t be saying this. He had a weapon!”
“I could have died that night on The Midnight Gameshow by the hands of Sam Thompson,” the funnyman joked.
Sam and Zara’s split was revealed after the couple spent Christmas apart. They had been together for five years and lived together in London, in the house next to his Made In Chelsea star sister Louise Thompson.
Michael McIntyre’s Big Show returns to BBC One on Saturday, January 18 at 6.50pm.
