A troublemaker has been banned from entering a town centre in Gloucestershire due to ongoing anti-social and violent behaviour. Jake Farrelly, of Cirencester, has been given an Anti-Social Behaviour Injunction (ASBI) from Cheltenham and Gloucester County Court on December 20, 2024.
The injunction was given to Farrelly, 30, in a bid to tackle anti-social behaviour in the town. The order prevents him from engaging in conduct which causes or is capable of causing alarm or harassment or distress to any person within the town of Cirencester.
It also stops him from using or threatening to use violence against any person within the town of Cirencester and entering or being in Cirencester town centre at any time. If Farrelly breaches the order, which runs until December 20, 2025, he is at risk of arrest and could face jail.
Inspector Simon Ellson from the Cotswold Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “Farrelly’s ongoing anti-social behaviour has been causing fear and alarm to those that work in Cirencester’s licensed venues and their customers.
“This order was deemed necessary to curtail his behaviour and provide some protection to members of the public and I’m grateful to our Solace team for their efforts in securing this injunction.
“If Farrelly breaches the conditions of this order he will be arrested, returned to court and could face jail, and I would urge anyone who witnesses him in Cirencester town centre or committing offences to report this to police by calling 101.
“The Cotswold Neighbourhood Policing Team is committed to reducing anti-social behaviour and we will continue to seek similar orders against those who seek to cause harm to our communities.”
