Seven people have been arrested after a firearm was recovered from a property in Great Harwood.
Lancashire Police executed a warrant at an address on Meadow Street at 9am today (Monday, January 8). A search was conducted and officers discovered what they believed to be a handgun.
This was found in a building on the site and has been seized for further analysis by ballistic experts. A caravan and a Nissan X Trail vehicle was also seized during the warrant.
Seven people between the ages of 17 and 48 were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm. Enquiries are ongoing.
Assistant Chief Constable Karen Edwards said: “We will continue to work with our partners to target and arrest those who engage in serious criminality and I hope that today’s action shows that we will take action on the issues that are of most concern to our communities.”
