Sir David Jason shares favourite Only Fools and Horses scene

The show, which originally aired on BBC One, first aired in 1981 and lasted seven series with a final episode airing on Christmas Day in 2003.

Sir David appeared as Del Boy alongside Nicholas Lyndhurst as Rodney Trotter and the late Buster Merryfield as Uncle Albert who passed away in 1999.

Only Fools and Horses attracted millions of viewers and has often been described as one of the best British TV shows and has even inspired a stage musical based on the characters. 

Now, Sir David has revealed what his favourite moment from Only Fools and Horses is, and it might surprise fans.

Appearing on the BBC Sounds podcast Off The Telly with Joanna Page and Natalie Cassidy, Sir David admitted that he likes the dramatic scenes in Only Fools And Horses. 

The actor shared that scenes including when Del introduces his baby to the world and Del standing alone at Rodney and Cassandra’s wedding reception are among his top.

Adding: “Those are my best moments too, because what was asked of me as an actor was to play that range of emotions that we all as human beings suffer from.”

Sir David further shared that he would often get emotional during some of Del Boys’ scenes: “Because Del was my character, I’d get emotionally involved. It was so well written.

“Trying to get all of that across, with all the dialogue you’re given, you can’t help but get involved.”
