Sticks ‘n‘ Sushi Greenwich January menu: Review

Sticks ‘n’ Sushi is one of London’s popular sushi spots, with 4 branches across south London, with their latest opening at Battersea Power Station last year.

This restaurant is a fusion of Japanese and Danish food and serves a mix of sushi and grilled dishes along with Japanese-inspired cocktails.

But if you’re feeling the pinch after Christmas, they’ve recently launched their new January Stick to What You Love menu, where you get a selection of dishes for just £19.50.

With both a seafood and a sticks option available, whether you love sushi or prefer something from the grill, this is a great little spot if you’re looking for an affordable lunch date or want something to spit with a friend.

We started off with some cocktails, and for a chain Sticks ‘n’ Sushi definitely has some of the best I’ve tried.

Among some of my favourites were the Tiki Fuji Punch, with the combination of Matcha and Pineapple, and the Japanese Spring Punch, which was a slight take on the Bramble with Gin along with Raspberry and Prosecco.

If you opt for the Stick to What You Love set menu you can choose between seafood or grill.

We went with the grill option, which features five signature sticks like peppers, chicken, salmon, lamb and cauliflower, along with rice and miso, which are perfect to split or to have on your own if you have an appetite.

The skewers were really filling and I really enjoyed getting to try so many different grilled options on one plate, my personal favourites were the salmon and cauliflower but in general all were very good.

But if you are a seafood fan you can instead choose the Sea option, which includes seaweed salad, edamame and soy-cured salmon with pickled red onion, avocado, cucumber and coriander served with Goma.

We also ended up getting some of their classic California Rolls to share, which were a mix of shrimp, crab and avocado along with the Crab Croquettes which were my favourite thing I tried from the whole menu.

But if you’re still feeling like you have room for desserts, they have a selection of Japanese-Inspired desserts like a sesame-topped Crème Brulee and a pastry filled with yuzu curd and yuzu meringue.

But we opted to try the dark chocolate fondant, with a gooey matcha centre and topped with vanilla ice cream and matcha cookie crumble, which was honestly such a great combination of flavours and textures.

The Stick To What You Know set menu will be available until January 31 and runs all day at Sticks ‘n’ Sushi.
