New Year’s Day means there are multiple disruptions and fewer trains across the Transport for London network. Customers are advised to plan their journey online before travelling to avoid issues as best they can.
The Underground and Overground are operating on a Saturday service, with changes to the timetable made to the District line. The Elizabeth line will also see a temporarily reduced service, with full details listed below.
There will also be multiple road closures surrounding the New Year’s Day parade in Zone 1. As such, multiple bus routes will be on diversion and should be checked here. You can find a full list of today’s travel advice here:

London Underground
Some stations on the District line will not be served

- Reduced Sunday service
- No service on Waterloo & City line
- No service to Kensington Olympia on the District line
London Overground
Lionness line
- Saturday service
- First trains will be at approximately 6:45am
Mildmay line
- Saturday service
- No service between Camden Road and Willesden Junction after 23:45pm
Suffragette line
Weaver line
- No service on the Liverpool Street- London Fields line, with limited service on the rest of the line
- Liverpool Street rail station is closed
Elizabeth Line
There will be fewer trains an hour on multiple lines

- Some early and late services will terminate at Stratford instead of Liverpool Street station
DLR & Trams
The DLR and Tram will be running on a Saturday and Sunday service, respectively.
Bus
- Sunday service on all day routes
- Sunday night service
Driving
- Vehicles do not need to pay the congestion charge when entering or leaving the city.
- You may have to pay the ULEZ or LEZ if your vehicle doesn’t meet emissions standards
