The UK is bracing for a fresh blizzard and snowstorm next week, with up to 10cm of snow expected to fall per hour. According to WX Charts, a new wave of the white stuff threatens to sweep across Wales, Scotland, and England, with temperatures dropping as low as -3C at times.
Data from Met Desk reveals that major cities including Cardiff, Inverness, and Birmingham are set to be hit. Aberdeen, Powys, Newcastle, and Manchester are also at risk on Saturday, January 25.
Most places will likely see around 10cm of snow, but as much as 12cm could fall in the Yorkshire Dales. The North East of England, West Midlands, Pennines, and the North West are also at risk.
This means Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyneside, Durham, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, the West Midlands, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire are all at risk from the flurries of the white stuff next week. This comes after the Met Office shared its outlook for January 20 to January 29.
The forecast states: “The early part of next week will see fairly quiet, and for most, dry weather with variable amounts of cloud and often light winds. The greatest chance of any rain is likely to be in the far northwest of the UK, and possibly as well in the far south.”, reports Birmingham Live.
The Met Office has predicted: “There is a small chance rain could become more widespread, and temperatures are expected to be around average. Later in the week, periods of much wetter and windier weather will most likely eventually become more prevalent, from northwest to southeast.”
The forecast also suggests: “Ahead of this a colder, more settled southeasterly wind may develop for a time. There is a small chance however, that alternatively winds could turn much more easterly, and colder, bring the risk of snow showers.”
