Channel 5 crime drama The Good Ship Murder will return to screens this week, only weeks after a Christmas special. The hit series focuses on retired detective and cabaret singer Jack Grayling solving murders on board.
After the Christmas special reintroduced us on December 18, fans will not have to wait long. The new series arrives on Channel 5 on January 10 at 9pm with weekly episodes scheduled.
Each episode in the series features former X Factor winner Shayne Ward performing a song in the cabaret lounge. Here is everything you need to know about The Good Ship Murder.

What is the plot of The Good Ship Murder?
A synopsis said: “Jack is ready to take a bold step in his relationship with Kate, inviting her for a romantic evening at the opera during their stop in Rome. But the unexpected arrival of Jack’s estranged 18-year-old daughter, Mia, throws his plans into chaos.”
Season two will have a focus on a love triangle as Piers will attempt to rekindle his relationship with Kate, further adding fuel to the fire. Each episode will feature a new crime with Spain, France and Portugal among the destinations on the cruise.
Who is in the cast of The Good Ship Murder?
Singer-turned-actor Shayne Ward headlines the cast of the mystery crime show and returns with Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley. Brookside actress Claire Sweeney will not be returning for the second season and has been replaced by Colin Smallwood.

How many episodes are there of The Good Ship Murder?
There are seven episodes planned for the second season. Adding in the eight episodes from season one and the Christmas special, there will be 16 episodes in total once the series has concluded.
Where was The Good Ship Murder filmed?
Details are scarce about filming locations for season two, but if it is anything like season one, fans are in for a treat. The show was filmed on an actual cruise ship, the MSC Virtuosa. Outside of the ship, a large portion of the show was filmed in locations across Malta.
