As Larry Williams said: “Rock and Roll has no beginning and no end for it is the very pulse of life itself”. There is just something about hearing those first guitar chords hit, invoking one’s inner rebellion, as if you’ve just been freed. ‘Bat Out Of Hell – The Musical’ brings a whole new meaning to “the very pulse of life itself”, and it’s the most vocally challenging theatre show you will ever see, all with a massive eight-piece live band on-stage.
‘Bat Out Of Hell – The Musical’ officially kicked off its 2025 tour at the Edinburgh Playhouse on January 6, completely rocking the audience followed by a standing ovation. Moreover, the show is taking over Bristol Hippodrome from September 1-13 welcoming the forbidden love-at-first-sight story.

Set in post-apocalyptic Manhattan, the plot follows two lovers Strat and Raven, who battle their family and friends to be together. Strat is the leader of the group of outcasts The Lost, while Raven is the daughter of Falco, who is the tyrant ruler of Obsidian.
What is more, ‘Bat Out of Hell’ quickly became one of the best-selling albums in history, selling over 68 million copies worldwide. Steinman then released Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell 16 years after the first album, which included the huge hit I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That).

For the stage musical, Jim Steinman incorporated some of the best songs from the Bat Out of Hell albums, including You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth, Bat Out of Hell, I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That) and Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad, as well as the previously unreleased song What Part of My Body Hurts the Most.

Secret Bristol got the chance to witness the show for ourselves, further strengthening our love for rock’n’roll. As music is the focal point of the musical, audiences should expect to be blown away by the vocals of each and every one of the cast members. Each song is more impressive than the previous one, invoking a deep appreciation for the skilled powerhouse musicians, the performers and good songwriting.
