Tragedy as missing Yorkshire woman, 24, found dead in caravan

The family of a young Doncaster woman whose body was discovered in a caravan are appealing for help to bring her back home so she can be laid to rest alongside her mother.

Tributes have poured in for 24-year-old Lacey Lake, who was found dead in in Tamerton Foliot, Plymouth, on Tuesday, January 7, after a search by Devon and Cornwall Police. The police were called to the scene at 1.20pm, and the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust confirmed they were called at 1.17pm.

While formal identification has not been completed, Lacey’s family has been informed of the discovery. A GoFundMe page has been set up by Lisa Gray to help Lacey’s family cover the costs of bringing her back to Doncaster, reports Plymouth Live.

Lisa said: “We are putting up this GoFundMe to help my friend Sara and her family to get her niece Lacey back home to Doncaster so she can be laid to rest with her mum who sadly passed away when Lacey was only a very young girl.”

Lacey’s mother, Samantha, passed away when Lacey was just a young girl, and the family wants to bring her home to be buried alongside her. The GoFundMe page states: “She needs to come home back to Doncaster to be laid to rest in the arms of her mum Samantha who sadly died when the children were only very young. The cost alone to get her body back to Doncaster isn’t going to be cheap and also to make arrangements for her funeral.”

The initial fundraising goal of £2,000 has been surpassed, and as of Wednesday evening, the total stood at £2,029, prompting the target to be increased to £3,500. Those wishing to contribute can visit the site here.
