Twin sisters leading the UK’s country scene come to Bromley

Country music has witnessed a revival across the globe in recent years.

Even in the UK, country has become decidedly cool with a plethora of new artists taking on the classic American genre.

Ward Thomas, made up of Hampshire twins Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas, were an early beneficiary of this movement.

Their second album, Cartwheels, reached No 1 in 2016 – the first UK country act to do so.

In 2019, the band were presented with the Country Music Association’s Jeff Walker Global Achievement Award in recognition of their success and impact on country music in the UK.

Now hailed as one of the UK’s most successful country acts, the duo are touring with a special acoustic show across the next two months, featuring stripped back versions of their songs.

The pair will be ending their trip at Bromley Churchill Theatre on February 28.

These unique shows will take Ward Thomas back to their early days of performing and writing together, tracing the road to success from their debut album in 2014 ‘From Where We Stand’.
