One witness told the ECHO how they saw a “pool of blood”

Two people have been arrested after a man suffered a head injury following a disturbance in Liverpool city centre on Sunday night. Merseyside Police were called at around 9.15pm on Sunday, December 29 to reports a man in his 50s suffered an injury to his head and face during the disturbance on Great Charlotte Street.
A 33-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman were arrested following the attack. The 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of a controlled drug Class A (cocaine) and affray. The woman was arrested on suspicion of affray. Both are currently in custody.
A cordon was reportedly in place outside a city centre bar following the incident last night. In a video seen by the ECHO, officers and paramedics can be seen filling the Great Charlotte Street, with the cordon in place. One witness told the ECHO they saw “pools of blood”.
