Two men and a teenager are due in court in connection with arson attacks on a city house. The emergency services were called to Albert Road, in Stechford, just before 10pm on Sunday after a car was set on fire.
They were then called on New Year’s Day after somebody tried to start a blaze on the road. Today, the police revealed that two adults and a teenager have been charged with arson and witness intimidation and are due before Birmingham Magistrates Court.
West Midlands Police said in a statement: “Three people have now been charged by officers investigating a series of arson attacks in Stechford. Mohammed Jenghis Khan, 34, Mohammed Kamran Khan, aged 22, and a 14-year-old have all now been charged with arson and witness intimidation.
“They were appearing before city magistrates today. We were called to Albert Road just before 10pm on Sunday after a car had been set alight.
“And on New Year’s Eve, a property was damaged when someone attempted to set it alight. The fire was extinguished before significant damage was caused.”
The police added: “Fortunately, nobody has been injured in any of the incidents.
“Enquiries are ongoing and CCTV in and around the area is being reviewed. Anyone with information has been asked to get in touch on 101 or Live Chat quoting log 179 of 1 January.”
