A person has been rescued from a property following a flat fire in Crosby this afternoon. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a flat fire on Moor Lane, Crosby at around 12.58pm on Friday (January 17).
Crews arrived on scene shortly after 1pm to find a flat ablaze on the second floor. One occupant was rescued from the property who was unconscious and breathing. They received first aid from crews before being handed over to North West Ambulance Service (NWAS).
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the flat to search for other occupants and extinguish the fire using a hose reel jet. Adjacent flats were searched and one occupant was led to safety by firefighters.
The fire has now been extinguished and crews remain on scene to dampen down and ventilate the property. The incident is still ongoing and people are being urged to avoid the area.
