Unique ring stolen from home after thieves smash through patio door

A unique ring was among the items stolen after thieves broke into a home in Fairford. The offenders smashed a patio door to gain entrance to the property on Sunday, December 8 before searching through cupboards and drawers.

Gloucestershire Police said the theft took place sometime between 1.30pm and 5.20pm. Two safes containing cash, jewellery, a Rolex watch and documents were taken during the break-in.

The three-stone emerald and diamond ring, which has the word ‘Jessie’ stamped on the inside of the gold band, was among the jewellery taken. Investigating officers are now appealing to the public for information.

Gloucestershire Police said: “CCTV and house to house enquiries have been carried out in the area and officers are now urging any witnesses to come forward. Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area that week or who has CCTV or dashcam footage which they believe is relevant is asked to make contact.

“Officers would also like to hear from anyone who is offered the ring for sale. Information can be provided to police online by completing the following form and quoting incident 325 of 8 December. Alternatively you can phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or visit their website. “
