A West Country cricket club may have had a spirt of a different kind at its bar this week. Clevedon Cricket Club released footage of an “orb-like figure” flying around after closing time on Tuesday, January 7.
The ‘orb’, which can be seen bobbing up and down seems to be joined by another ‘orb’ floating around behind the bar. Is this a ghostly bartender and regular swapping drinks? Or is it a few specks of dust on the lens?
Clevedon Cricket Club asked their regulars on Facebook for help: “How’s this for unusual? Chairman checks the CCTV after the Wi-Fi drops off at the clubhouse, only for the footage to reveal some orb-like figure floating around? Anyone have an explanation?”
One supporter, clearly the Sully of this story, said: “Boring answer. But is it a torchlight shining in from outside?”. A representative for the club replied: “It’s been there for a good 20 mins. Few people reckon it’s a spider on the lens maybe”.
Another customer asked, perhaps jokingly, if it could be a squirrel. Similarly, another person remarked: “Didn’t know you’d stopped serving spirits!?”
Undead fright or trick of the light? Clevedon Cricket Club’s ‘ghost’ caught on CCTV.

Clevedon Cricket Club isn’t the only watering hole with a alleged supernatural side. Over in Bath, The Fairfield Arms is believed to have a poltergeist who reacts badly to customers sitting at a particular table.
“No matter whether you got a flute glass, a pint glass, anything- it just flies off the table!”, said Chris, who suspects they may be sharing the lease with a ghost. “We’re forever replacing drinks!”.
The ghost also made its presence known while the pair were filming a video showcasing the pub’s Halloween décor last year: “We definitely got a spirit in this club, because when we were filming that video, the end of the curtain fell off and a packet of peanuts fell off the bar- why would it do that?”
