VETS have issued urgent warning to dog owners over a recalled dog toy that can cause “werewolf syndrome”.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued precautionary advise against feeding dogs certain chews manufactured in China.

Reports from the European Union suggest the products may be linked to alarming symptoms in dogs, including panic attacks, aggression, muscle spasms, seizures, and, in extreme cases, death.
The affected products include chews sold under the Barkoo and Chrisco brands, featuring specific batch codes and barcodes.
While no cases have been reported in the UK and there’s no evidence the products have been distributed here, the FSA has warned that some may have been purchased online from international sellers.
“Werewolf syndrome” is a term used to describe sudden and severe behavioural changes in dogs.
Dog owners are advised to immediately stop using the listed chews if they have them and consult a vet if their pet shows any of these symptoms.
Vets are urged to remain alert to cases with these symptoms and report any suspicions to the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA).
The FSA emphasised that there is no evidence these products pose a risk to human health.
However, they are working with European authorities to investigate the issue further.
