A yellow weather warning for snow and ice is in place for Wales until 10am on Tuesday morning. The warning came into effect at 5pm on Monday, meaning some people across the country could be waking up to a layer of snow.
However, in areas where snowfall hasn’t been as prolific, ice may be the cause of disruption, as wintery showers and freezing temperatures cause surface water to freeze. Dyfed-Powys Police warned that road conditions across Ceredigion were particularly poor on Monday evening, urging people only to travel when necessary.
The Met Office forecast for Tuesday says: “A cold, icy morning with wintry showers across the country. Staying cold and breezy for many, with further sleet and snow showers, these mainly in the north and west. Plenty of sunshine in between. Feeling cold in the brisk wind.”
