A warning has been issued to Barclays customers over a swathe of bank closures coming from next week. Six sites are set to shutter amid changing consumer habits, with account holders and customers turning away from traditional high street, physical branches.
Sam Richardson, the deputy editor of Which?, shared: “While some may hardly notice the closure of their local branch as they seamlessly switch to online banking, for others reliant on face-to-face services, the impact can be disastrous.
“It’s not about halting closures altogether, but ensuring that essential banking services remain accessible to those who still rely on them. It is crucial that the government prioritises opening more hubs quickly, so that people aren’t left behind.”

To find out whether your local bank branch is closing or has recently closed, Which? has moved to act and has helpfully created a unique tool to show shutting down branches in your local constituency.
Simply select your bank and enter your postcode to find out which branches closed recently and which are about to be lost, it says.
