We’re still feeling the post-Christmas January blues, with the weather being less than ideal, social events at a minimum, and our holidays feeling further out of reach. Thankfully, for those of us who have a penchant for fashion and an obsession with beauty products, that sadness can be quashed by indulging in a smidge of retail therapy from the comfort of our sofa in our pyjamas — why not treat yourself to a lovely new coat?
While the sales can be pretty overwhelming when you’re browsing, our shopping writers Lauren and Eve have shared some of the top products that have made their way into their shopping baskets this week to inspire you.
Enter Weekend Wishlist. A carefully curated list filled with must-have, celeb-approved and beautifying products we think deserve to be shouted about.

This week, we’re looking at hydrating skincare from Glow Recipe, winter boots from Dr Martens, jewellery from Bohomoon and Edge of Ember and homeware from Next — amongst many more things.

Lookfantastic’s January Edit
Everything you get inside this month’s The Box from LookFantastic
(

LookFantastic)
To kickstart January with some self-care, Lookfantastic has launched their January edit of The Box subscription and, I can confirm it’s a real treat for those looking to add some TLC into their weekend ritual. Packed with skin-loving goodies like Dr Paw Paw’s facial mist, The Works’ body butter, an Elemis’ cleansing balm – travel-sized, ideal for NY trips – and deep conditioner for your hair, among other things, it gives you a good opportunity to slow down and really indulge in the reset and recoup.
The deep hair conditioner Elasticizer from Philip Kingsley adds a bounce back into dreary, tired locks, while the cleansing balm melts away makeup and nourishes your skin in one fell swoop.
The Facial Mist is super refreshing – great throughout the day – and the body butter not only smells divine but leaves your skin silky smooth.
With Sunbum SPF30 Lip Balm – to banish chapped lips whilst protecting you from the UV rays, even in winter – Peter Thomas Roth FirmX Eye Gel 5ml (deluxe size) and a Lancôme Génifique Serum Sachet also included in the set, the box is worth over £105 but costs just £13 if you are a subscriber or £15 as a one off.
It’s a great haul to help you try some new products for a fraction of the usual price . The only thing is, being deluxe sizes, they won’t last too long but they’re great if you want to test out some new brands before investing in a full size. Get it here.
Bohomoon Blush TBar Necklace
Bohomoon’s Blush TBar Necklace

Bohomoon)
I’ve been looking to add some more statement pieces of jewellery into my accessory rotation to add some character to an otherwise boring outfit and this Blush TBar Necklace from Bohomoon — at only £30 — is currently sitting in my shopping basket. Coming in a lovely light gold, the stainless steel necklace makes a bold statement with a big shell-live heart charm attached to the T-bar chain, which adds a lovely industrial feel.
What’s great about this necklace, though, is that it claims to tarnish free and waterproof — which is a game changer for the amount of times I’ve had the dreaded green ring on my finger or etched into the back of my neck. With a relatively long chain at 45cm, I can see it elevating a plain white tee and my favourite jeans, or adding a certain je ne sais quoi to my LBD ensemble.
If the shell-like finish (ribbed) is not quite to your taste and you’re happy to pay a little extra, Hey Harper has a lovely alternative option in its Daphne Alice necklace, which comes with a luxe, floral pattern etched into the gold heart here.
Next Rockett St George Leopard Print Candles
The Rockett St George Leopard Print Dinner Candles come in a pack of four
(

If you’re looking to dip your toe into interior design for your home this year and want to brave some more bold patterns, starting small with some pretty glam looking candles is a good introduction. These leopard print candles by Rockett St George, available at Next, are a good starting point if you want to add some sass into your dining space. Costing £12, the set of four candles adorned in leopard spots will certainly inject a bit of fun.
Great if you have a neutral colour scheme as it won’t disrupt the flow too much. Even better if your vibe is wild and wonderful. If vibrant magenta is more your vibe, they also come in a pink leaf design.
Add some more texture with these Gold Taper Candle Holders too, £12.
Uniqlo’s Seamless Down Long Coat
Uniqlo’s Seamless Down Long Coat is currently on sale
(

Cold weather calls for a coat that makes you feel like you’re wrapped up in your duvet when doing the coffee run in the morning. Currently on my wishlist is Uniqlo’s Seamless Down Long Coat, which is a pretty decent option that is cosy, stylish and currently on sale – a triple threat. Coming in sizes XXS to XXL, the coat costs £129.90 down from £159 and maximizes warmth with its ‘golden ratio’ filling of 90% down to 10% feathers.
It’s also water-repellent for when you get caught out in the rain and the stitch-free makeup means no drizzle will get through the cracks, making your shoulders wet (we’ve all been there). Plus, it comes with a toasty hood.
It comes in four different colours, but my favourite has to be the dark green, here, and comes to just below your knees. It’s got popped on the side too so you won’t be restricted in your movement.
Claudia Winkleman’s Spanx leggings

You may not have expected such a basic item like plain black leggings to have a spot on our Weekend Wishlist this week, but having spotted our favourite TV host Claudia Winkleman sporting them so fashionably during her stint on The Traitors, they’ve now secured a place in our shopping bag. Even more so as they’re currently on sale for £44 down from £75.
The seamless leggings from Spanx are mae with recycled SENSIL EcoCare nylon, making them super soft, and with its hidden innovation and shaping, really flatters the figure and gives your legs, bum and tummy the support it needs. Its double layer waistband gives your tummy a smoothing over (great post Christmas) while its four-way stretch makes for easy movement.
To channel your inner Claudia, pair the leggings with some Dr Martens boots, a blazer and a statement shirt like this Shirley Spotted Blouse from Sister Jane.
Edge of Ember Sunseeker Charm Earrings
Edge of Ember’s Sunseeker Charm Earrings
(

Edge of Ember)
Everyone needs a small pair of earrings that are a bit out of the ordinary but pass for everyday wear and these Sunseeker huggies from Edge of Ember — a brand loved by Meghan Markle — pass the test. Great if you love a boho-style accessory, these £95 earrings are 18K gold plated and have a ribbed small hoop that can be looped into the sunseeker charm.
Reminding you of sunnier climates and summer days, I’ve worn these earrings every day since I got them at Christmas and not only do they make me feel put-together on days where I want subtle accessories, they’ve not once tarnished, left green marks on my ears and have stayed put.
My only qualm is that you need to be mindful when taking them off as the charm is not attached, so it can easily fall off.
Lauren’s picks:
Glow Recipe Cloudberry Bright Moisture Cream, £35
The Cloudberry Bright Moisture Cream is the latest launch from Glow Recipe
(

You shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but I’d be lying if I said Glow Recipe’s stunning packaging wasn’t part of the initial appeal. With its playful, fruit-inspired designs and millennial-friendly aesthetic, the brand always stands out — and the tubs look fab on my dressing table.
Thankfully, the products themselves aren’t half bad either. The brand’s new Cloudberry Bright Moisture Cream has been on regular rotation since it launched late last year; it leaves my skin feeling soft and supple thanks to a blend of vitamin C-rich ingredients and hyaluronic acid.
The texture is light and fast-absorbing, making it an ideal choice for morning routines under makeup. And true to Glow Recipe’s signature style, the cream has a fruity scent that complements its vibrant orange hue.
True, its smell won’t be for everyone, so you might want to skip this one if you prefer unscented skincare or have sensitive skin. Instead, I recommend Paula’s Choice, which always delivers with its fragrance-free formulas.
River Island Pink Oversized Jumper, £20 from £40
This jumper would work just as well with jeans as it would with a slip dress and boots
(

River Island)
River Island’s winter sale is in full swing, meaning there are many discounted cosy coats and knitwear to get excited about. But this light pink jumper is a great shout if you’re over the bad British weather and fancy manifesting some spring vibes instead.
The ultimate piece for transitioning between seasons, it’s perfect for layering now and wearing alone when the weather warms up. Its soft pink hue feels fresh and uplifting, while the oversized fit and classic crew neck make it incredibly versatile.
While the weather is still chilly, layer it over a roll-neck top with wide-leg jeans and chunky boots for a stylish winter look. Come spring, tuck it into a floral midi skirt or white linen trousers for a light, fresh aesthetic.
The knit is also suitable for cool summer evenings — simply pair it with denim shorts and sandals. Essentially, it’s a fantastic item that can be worn all year round, adding a splash of colour to your wardrobe — and a bit of cheer to dreary January.
Curél Deep Moisture Spray, £19.50
This Curél spray can be used throughout the day to keep you hydrated and fresh
(

Winter always leaves my skin feeling parched, and with the current cold snap, it’s worse than ever. With that in mind, I’ve been tempted to pick up a bottle of this Deep Moisture Spray by Japanese beauty brand Curél.
The ultra-fine mist is powered by ceramides, which help replenish and strengthen the skin’s barrier, locking in moisture when needed most. It also contains soothing ingredients like eucalyptus extract, making it ideal for tackling winter dryness with irritation.
And unlike many sprays designed exclusively for the face, this one can be used all over your body. I imagine it’ll be a game-changer for scaly elbows, dry shins and rough patches on knees — basically, any area that needs extra hydration during the colder months.
Dr Martens Flared Heel Chelsea Boots, £126 from £180
These heeled Chelsea boots are currently reduced to £126 from £180
(

Dr Martens)
If there’s ever an opportunity to invest in a pair of quality boots that will last you for years, it’s now. Dr Martens is hosting a huge winter sale on a wealth of its popular styles, including these heeled boots, which have been on constant rotation since I bought them in 2021.
Whether I’m heading to the local in my denim jeans and a T-shirt or giving a boho maxi dress a bit of attitude, these shoes are just the ticket. Even after countless wears, they still look fresh out of the box — all they need is the odd wipe to keep their polished look intact.
The chunky heel is surprisingly easy to walk in (from someone who actively avoids heels), while the signature black-and-yellow stitching adds that classic Dr Martens touch.
My only gripe is that they took a bit to break in, so I’d recommend having some blister plasters ready when you first start wearing them. But once they’ve softened, they’re a dream to wear.
The Outset Gentle Micellar Antioxidant Cleanser, £32
The Outset is the brainchild of actress Scarlett Johansson and entrepreneur Kate Foster
(

Cult Beauty)
Another day, another beauty brand by a celebrity. Yep, now actress Scarlett Johansson has joined the likes of Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga and Hailey Bieber with The Outset, which the star describes as ‘a collection of essentials I wish I had 10 years ago. I struggled with sensitized skin for years before creating this clean, hydrating routine I now use daily.’
When presented with the collection, I was drawn to the Gentle Micellar Antioxidant Cleanser, a fragrance-free formula designed to cleanse the skin without disrupting its natural balance, making it ideal for my easily irritated complexion. It easily removes dirt, oil and makeup, leaving my skin feeling soft and hydrated.
After just a few uses, my skin feels calm and refreshed, proving that gentle doesn’t have to mean less effective. It’s a must-try for anyone seeking a simple, skin-loving cleanser this season.
