Weight loss £16 hula hoop is helping people lose ‘inches off their waist’

Amazon is selling a £16 gadget that people say is helping them lose weight and take ‘inches’ off their waist. For anyone not keen on going to the gym and prefer at-home exercising, this £16 product could be a game-changer.

Better still, buyers say they’ve noticed a huge difference after using it for 20 minutes a day for a few weeks. The product getting high praise is Amazon’s £15.99 Weighted Hula Hoops for Adults.

The weighted hula hoop has garnered an overall customer score of 4.4 stars out of five from thousands of glowing reviews. The majority of customers find the fitness hoop easy to assemble and use. They also appreciate its comfort, exercise quality, and fun.

Amazon says: “Weighted hula hooping is a proven way to lose weight and slim your waist. Thirty minute workouts can burn 200-300 calories.” The fitness accessory is available in different weights for differing abilities, including pink and orange 1.2kg, blue 1.5kg and black 2kg.

The weighted hula hoop’s foam padding is designed to give cushioned support to your body while remaining sturdy with the polyurethane inner structure. The hoop is assembled with six soft foam-padded sections that are slotted together. The foam is designed to be resistant to bacteria, making it easy to clean and hygienic to use.

In the reviews, one buyer called Perkins wrote: “Absolutely love this item. Anyone wanting to lose a few inches on their waist this is just what you need. It is heavy but it does make you work. I persisted with it and after two weeks I could hula hoop for twenty minutes. The product itself is easy to link together and it’s very good quality.”

A second put: “I put this together in less than 5 minutes. A great way to tone up and lose weight!” Denise added: “This is a brilliant and fun way to tone up your core and reduce your waist line.”

Alice said: “I have been using it for a week now (20 minutes each way) and I defo see a change. My core is tighter and my waist is smaller. Yes the first 2 days it does hurt but then it’s fine.” Another declared: “I’ve lost 4 inches off of my waist line which is great considering I was only 28 inches to start off with! and no more belly fat.”

One customer said: “Great, very good hoop. Easy to store and put together.”

Maria had a word of advice: “Firstly, it is very painful in your first week… you will also get bruises and the hula hoop for a few first times of using will seem to be much heavier than it actually is, but don’t worry it’ll pass. So, what I am saying is that for the first week you won’t be able to work with it for more than, say 5-10 minutes, maybe even less, but with each day it becomes better and better.”

However, some people weren’t as impressed. One person said: “I can barely hoola hoop for more than 5 seconds without it hurting me. Wouldn’t recommend.” Another claimed: “It was easy to assemble but lacked rigidity and form.” Sharon added: “This is a sturdy heavy hoop which would be excellent were it not for the ridges on the inside of the hoop.”
