The Chinese New Year is on Wednesday January 29, signaling the start of the Lunar Year and we’ll be entering the Year of the Snake. According to an ancient myth, the order of zodiac signs are determined by the results of a 12 animal race across a river.
In the race, the Snake finished sixth despite it having no legs being able to compensate for not being the best swimmer by holding on to the Horse’s hoof across the river.
When it crossed the line it jumped off, scaring the Horse and taking sixth place. People born in the Year of the Snake (1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, and 2025) are said to be resourceful, insightful, and graceful problem-solvers, embodying the power of adaptability and growth.
