‘Whole life ahead of you’ – Tributes pour in for 18-year-old killed in Castleford sewage works crash

Tributes have poured in for an 18-year-old who was killed in a car crash in Castleford.

On Sunday, January 12, at 6.19pm a white Volkswagen Golf on Wheldon Road crashed and entered a water treatment facility. The car was partially submerged when the emergency services arrived at the scene.

A man and a woman, both 21, were rescued from the car and were later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. An 18-year-old man, from the Wakefield area, was found dead a few yards from the vehicle. He was locally named as Taylor Lupton, and tributes have now been paid to him.

One person wrote: “Well sad to be writing something like this again but Rest in peace Taylor Lupton you was such a special man with such a good heart and special mind and one of the most special personalities even after everything you experienced in life you was still one of the most warm funny genuine good person you made an impact on everyone’s life you was involved in and definitely changed my perspective a few times sad to lose someone amazing as you till we meet again”.

Another added: “The world is such a cruel place to live. You had your whole life ahead of you. R.I.P Taylor Lupton you really did light up any room you walked into.”

One more said: “Taylor Lupton I don’t even know where to begin, never in a million years I would’ve I thought I’d be writing this message, you were my absolute world and you made me a better person, you taught me how to love myself, I love you so much and i will miss you so much more, I really wish things could be different and you could be sat with me right now, it can’t be put into words how devastated I am right now, I hope to make you proud and you will always be in my mind and heart”.

Yet another friend said: “Can’t believe this.. you’ve been a great friend through thick and thin you was a good person and I can’t imagine how hard it is going to be for your family and close friends it’s killed me to find out that you’ve gone I’ll see you soon my brother take it easy up there…save me a pint for when I see you again. Rest easy Taylor Lupton.”

Another person said: “Fly high Taylor Lupton I cant believe its happened doesn’t feel real gonna miss going to get your hair cut with u and summers in the field u was an absolute icon look after yourself up there your back with Tyler both beautiful angels”.
