Woman knocked unconscious with glass bottle in brutal attack on Tube

A woman was knocked unconscious when a glass bottle was smashed over her head in an attack while on the London Underground.

The British Transport Police (BTP) have issued an appeal into the serious assault which took place on a Central line train between Shepherd’s Bush and Liverpool Street at around 3.30pm on December 2.

The BTP said a woman sat next to the victim, and the pair started arguing before the woman punched the victim in the head repeatedly, scratched her face and pulled her hair.

Three members of the public restrained the woman and moved her away, but she returned to the victim and started to stamp on her feet.

She then poured a bottle of juice over the victim before taking an empty glass bottle and smashing it over the victim’s head, knocking her unconscious.

The force is asking witnesses of the assault to come forward.

Anyone with information can contact the BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 41 of 26 December.

Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111.
