Yorkshire hotel The Grand in York wins ‘Best Urban Hotel’ in the UK

A Yorkshire hotel has been handed an award for ‘Best Urban Hotel’.

The Grand in York won at this year’s Conde Nast Traveller Awards for Excellence. The awards, celebrating the best in luxury hospitality around the country, took place in Kimpton Fitzroy, London to an audience of some of the top leaders in UK hospitality.

As one of the industry’s most prestigious reader awards, the winners are decided by a public vote, allowing the Conde Nast Traveller audience to have their say on who should go home with the crowning title across 22 UK categories.

Chris Cooper, Acting General Manager, said: “I am incredibly proud and humbled that we have been awarded Best Urban Hotel (Town, City) at this year’s Conde Nast Traveller Awards for Excellence. This prestigious recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and passion of our entire team, who strive daily to deliver an unparalleled experience for our guests.

“The Grand has always aimed to celebrate the rich history and vibrant culture of York while offering a luxurious sanctuary for visitors. We’re delighted that our efforts, along with the exceptional dining experience at our fine-dining restaurant, Legacy, have resonated with so many of our guests and Conde Nast Traveller readers.”

The award-winning hotel on Station Rise features 207 rooms, a spa, cookery school, a fine-dining restaurant, Legacy, The Rise Restaurant, Terrace & Bar for breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner and The 1906 cocktail bar.
